Question : Is Pope Francis or God is correct?
A human [i.e. Pope Francis] who says that he is the head of the worldwide church and doesn't know how to divide the Scriptures rightly by saying (See 2 Tim 2:15), 'That he does not believe in a literal HELL where people SUFFER, and that this doctrine is incompatible with the infinite LOVE OF GOD. GOD is not a JUDGE, but a FRIEND and LOVER OF HUMANITY,' is not fit to ever call himself a spiritual leader over people.
What does the Bible say regarding these things?
Answer : The Bible is the very Word of God which has been written in 3 languages by approximately 40 men of diverse backgrounds over the course of 1500 years, yet the message of a just God who rewards the righteous and pays back the evil doers as a righteous judge can be seen as a silver thread that binds the whole Book collection of the Word of God that has been inspired by the very Spirit of God and was written by Holy men when they were moved by Him (See 2 Tim 3:16-17; 1 Peter 3:12). The Bible speaks about a loving God with an everlasting love who is a friend of sinners but who is perfectly holy enough to judge every sin of humans without ever overlooking even one of it, but merciful enough to redeem all those who seek help to be saved from it.
1) There is a literal hell fire God has prepared for Devil and his angels who have rebelled and disobeyed Him, and those humans who do not want to choose God's salvation through Jesus Christ will end up with them by their own desire and will (See Matt 25:41).
2) This literal hell has torment of mind, soul and body for eternity (See Mark 9:43-44).
3) Immediately after any unsaved humans die on earth, God takes control of their soul and keep them in a temporal place of torment [i.e. Hades (See Luke 16:23; Matt 10:28)] till the White Throne judgment. This is because they have rejected God's offer of salvation through Jesus Christ, and therefore will be judged according to their works by which they can never be justified before this holy God for eternity ahead. Every human is a born sinner who needs salvation from sin that God provides to enter in to the bliss of heaven and friendship with God (See Rom 3:23-26). Moments before the White Throne judgment takes place, all unbelievers will rise up in their physical bodies which will suddenly become eternal bodies, and therefore they will all come and stand in judgment before God through His power. Then the White Throne judgment will take place somewhere in the outer space just outside the New Earth and New Heaven (See Rev 20:11-13), because by that time the present heaven and earth would have been burnt by fire literally (See 2 Peter 3:12-13).
4) This place of eternal torment will be visible from a certain spot from the New Heaven and New earth for people to rejoice and remember of how God has judged those who have joined the rebellion of Satan by rejecting God's offer of salvation through Jesus Christ (See Isa 66:22-24).
5) The temporal place of torment of soul is called as 'Hades' in Greek (See Luke 16:23), then after all unsaved people rise up in their physical body just before the White Throne judgment and are judged by their worthless works that has no value to save their soul before God (See Rev 20:11-13), they will be put by God to eternal torment of spirit, soul and body in eternal hell or lake of fire which is called in Greek by the word 'Gehenna', where their literal quota of worms does not die and fire is not quenched (See Mark 9:43-44; Rev 20:14).
6) God is love, and the same God who is love says that He is also the light of purity and righteousness (See 1 John 4:8, 1:5). That is why the Scripture instructs us to consider both the "goodness and severity of God" (See Rom 11:22). If as Pope Francis says that just because God is Love that he will not judge humans for their sin and will not send them permanently to hell, either what he says must be right or God who has said and revealed about Himself through His Word as "a righteous judge and that He is angry with the wicked every day" must be right (See Psa 7:11)? It is like a child in its immaturity saying that my teacher is a loving teacher and so even if I do not do my home work and fight with my classmates sinfully, he will not punish me nor will be shout at me because he is a loving teacher, and that judging me is incompatible with his character? What a foolishness the child has exhibited, and it will learn only when that loving teacher gives punishment justly because of his love for this child. The Bible clearly warns us all "...not to withhold correction from a child, for if we beat him with a rod, he will not die." (Prov 23:13, Paraphrased) and it also says that "He who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines him promptly." (Prov 13:24). From the above clear cut simple exposition we know Pope Francis is wrong and lying because he is not compatible with what God has revealed in His Word already about Himself. At least a child has another chance of learning through mistakes, but when it comes to human souls, God has clearly told that it is appointed for all humans to die once and after that judgment (See Heb 9:27). There is no second chance given to any human souls who will believe the lie of Pope Francis and die to go to eternal hell fire. So beware of wrong doctrines of men like him who are totally speaking in opposition to the Word of God.
7) The Bible says that God "shall judge the world in righteousness, and He shall administer judgment for the peoples in uprightness." (See Psa 9:8). In other words, God has no favorites and hates sin but loves a sinner (See John 3:16). Because of God's infinite Love, He did not want even one sinner to die and go to hell fire because of His righteous judgment in the future. Therefore He Himself sacrificed His only begotten Son Jesus Christ as a substitutional sacrifice for the sins of all humans so that they could believe him and get forgiven by God to be out of judgment through His justification that He gives for those who believe Him through Jesus Christ (See 1 Tim 2:3-6; Rom 4:5-8). By the way, a person justified is seen by God as though he has never sinned at all because of being forgiven and forgotten of all the evil that he has done. Those who have believed Jesus will not be judged by God in the future for their sins because sinless Jesus was judged on behalf of them before God (See Heb 9:28; 2 Cor 5:21). The bottom line is that as much as God is love, that much He is also a righteous judge. That is why His righteousness needed His very sinless only begotten Son to be sacrificed for all humans to be justified (See Isa 53:8, 10-11).
8) When the Bible says that "God is a just judge" (See Psa 7:11), how can Pope Francis ever say that He is not. Even Satan deceived Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden six thousand years ago in the same way as Pope Francis when he lied to them face to face saying something to be not when God has already told it is regarding disobedience to His Word and the resultant death sentence that will come to them to make them die in their human spirit, to the soul and then to the body finally (See Gen 3:1-4). Can we not clearly see that the same Satan has influenced Pope Francis to deceive humanity by saying things in exact opposition to the Word of God through human reasoning?
9) God is a lover of all humanity so only He gave Jesus for the entire humanity to be saved through believing him, as Jesus Christ is the only way out of sin and death to receive eternal righteousness and life of friendship with God Himself (John 3:16). This is the reason Jesus Himself said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6). In other words, there is no other way to receive the true friendship of God except through believing Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God, through which by faith Abraham the father of faith himself became friend with God and received eternal life of God to live forever with Him (See John 8:56; Matt 22:32; Rom 4:9, 20-25; James 2:23). Now only those who believe like Abraham by faith to appropriate the blessing of salvation from sin and friendship with God can be saved from hell fire and eternal punishment which awaits all sinners who ever lived and live on earth till it gets completely burnt and destroyed by God. All unbelievers who play religion with God without receiving the true salvation of God through Jesus Christ, through whom God restores the lost relationship of all humans with Himself that got lost because of sin will be cut out from the Presence of God to spend their life after death without Him (See 2 Thess 1:8-10). The real torment of any living conscious soul is to live without the Presence and goodness of its Creator who created it for Himself to fill it and commune with the personality within it. Truly for any humans to live without the image of God [i.e. communion and fellowship with God] for which it is created will be very tormenting and that too for eternity is torturous as well as tormenting.
