Will The Wicked Soul Cease To Exist In Eternity Or Be Burnt To Ashes?

Is The Human Soul Mortal Or Immortal?

Question: Is the human soul mortal or immortal? Will the wicked soul cease to exist in eternity or be burnt to ashes?

Answer: Greetings in Jesus wonderful name!

First of all we must understand that all humans are eternal spirit, having a conscious soul and living in a temporal body of flesh.

God created man in his own image which implies unlike human image of our forefather Adam we carry
(Gen 5:1-2, 3), God's "own image" is his character, His His holiness, His eternality and His immortality and the power of free will (Jam 1:12-16), which is the spiritual image of Him like He is within the Trinity with the ability to have fellowship and share love among one another as eternal being (Gen 1:27). The spirit, soul and body was made perfect by God with no blemish in it in the beginning of time, but as humankind fell in to sin and rebellion because of his disobedience, his body came in to a state of constant deterioration leading to death and his soul got filled with a rebellion sin nature with out God's guidance and willing submission to Him in love and finally his spirit was darkened to spiritual death due to a separate conscience being formed without the light of God's voice shining and responding back from heaven within it to rule the soul and body in prosperity and peace of heaven (1 John 3:20-21). Conscience is the one way light of God shining from heaven which can be made to get darkened as the widow is slowly closed by human free will that chooses to remain in the darkness rather than in the light of God (John 3:18-19).

Once man dies whether saved or not, God's word plainly says,
"Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it." (Eccl 12:7). In other words, every spirit of human is kept under the jurisdiction of God, who judges all humans based on the spirit content within them which is like a black box of reality that cannot be erased (1 Cor 4:5).

Will A Loving God Make Unsaved Wicked Suffer Before The Eyes Of The Righteous For Eternity Ahead?

When we say a loving God, we should also not forget the very Scripture that also says, a God of judgment who is just in all His ways who is
"The LORD, ...the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation" on earth and eternal death of burning unquenchable fire where worm never dies and torment without God's presence never ceases forever and ever (Exo 34:6; Mark 9:42-48; 2 Thess 1:9-10).

Revelation 21:8
says, "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

The above verse is a wonderful Scripture that shows that the immortal unsaved soul never dies and will suffer torment for eternity in hell fire (Rev 21:8).

The Bible also says that the first death is physical and temporal which Jesus spoke about  in Matt 10:28, and in the same verse he has also has spoken about the rights of God to punish any unsaved human for eternal death which John the Revelator calls it as "second death" which the Bible explains itself as "the lake which burns with fire and brimstone" (Rev 20:14; 21:8). We know after the White Throne Judgment this above described wicked beings and unsaved souls who were kept in Hades prison cell until then being judged and thrown in to "the lake of [eternal] fire" where they inhabit and live there forever in a condemned state of sin of self and Satan (Rev 20:11-15; John 8:44; Eph 2:1-2). The Bible can explain itself clearly than we can by our own words, just we need to connect the puzzles of Scripture to Scripture in context for the Glory of God (Isa 28:10-11).

Praise the Lord!

Soul Sleep Or After Death In Hades Prison Waiting For White Throne Judgment And Gehenna Forever And Ever?

"Soul Sleep," also known as the doctrine of "Conditional Immortality," is primarily taught by Jehovah's Witnesses and Seventh-day Adventists. To be more exact, Jehovah's Witnesses teach "soul annihilation." This refers to the belief that when we die, the soul ceases to exist. At the future resurrection, Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the souls of the redeemed will be recreated.

Seventh-day Adventists teach true "soul sleep," meaning after death believers are not conscious of anything and their souls become completely inert or lose the ability to move until the time of the final resurrection of the dead. During this period of soul sleep, the soul resides in the memory of God.

Ecclesiastes 9:5 and 12:7 are also verses used to defend the doctrine of soul sleep. I explain the lack of truth in the above deceit saying, the dead know nothing in their dead body, because the the spirit along with the soul will return to God who gave it, who receives it in the New Jerusalem if they are saved or will dump them in Hades which is a temporary prison of soul torment until the white throne judgment comes if they are unsaved (2 Cor 5:8; Heb 4:12; Rev 6:9-11; Luke 16:22-23; 23:43; John 11:25-26; 1 Pet 3:18-19).

Soul in hell is not burnt because it is not material but rather spiritual entity, in Mark Gospel Jesus clearly says, "Their worm does not die and the fire in not quenched" (Mark 9:44, 46, 48) these are not talking about saved but rather the unsaved who does not die but suffer the worm and fire of hell eternally. When God judges the body, it dies and returns to dust. But when God judges the Soul, it is not destroyed literally but it is tormented to death in hell fire as it is a spiritual component to which it is attached which becomes separated from God's goodness for eternity ahead (Matt 10:28).

If the soul is destroyed in to ashes as people like to read in to Scripture, why should the rich man be tormented in Hades prison immediately after his physical death (Luke 16:23)? The same man according to the Scripture will again be judged during the White Throne Judgment where he will be judged and condemned eternally to burn in fire (Rev 20:11-15). We will see the wicked burn eternally in hell fire (Isa 66:24; 14:16-17). Praise the Lord!

We know clearly from the following Scriptures that there cannot be any so called "soul-sleep" or "Conditional Immortality" which are all baloney, except the truth that the spirit of humans are kept by God in his control after their earthly exit due to death, to make them live or die according to the choice they have taken when they were alive for some to get saved and reconciled back to God to be raptured back to life, or many others who chose to stay in rebellion of sin and disobedience who will be kept in the prison of condemnation ready for the White Throne Judgment during which they will be resurrected back to death of separation from God for eternity ahead. Daniel 12:2 says, “Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.” Similarly, Jesus Himself said that the wicked “will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life” (Matthew 25:46). Thus the Bible clearly confirms a conscious soul, whether saved or unsaved which will live forever and ever with God or with Satan and his demons in hell fire after the White Throne Judgment which will happen at the end of the Millennial rule of Jesus as the King over all the earth.

Earthly And Eternal Judgment, Don't Mix The Two?

When people quote Malachi 4:1 which says, "For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch" to justify soul sleep or conditional immortality, they must nor forget that this is an earthly judgment for the Israelites and is not talking about eternal judgment of souls. How do we know for sure? Because the Bible also speaks about the eternal Branch supernaturally coming out of Israel in spite of the judgment that came upon them which made them all a stubble (Zech 6:12). That eternal Branch is the Lord Jesus Christ the Messiah of the world who now have taken the reign of authority over the entire universe to judge the Israelites in a earthly way and but also all the people of the world in a eternal way too (John 3:18).

Hell was first made for Satan and his demonic demons first, and those humans who accompany them by doing their own will instead of God's will for their lives will end up in hell fire along with them where God will restrain himself from his goodness for eternity ahead according to their ill and wishes. Does Satan die in hell fire...? The answer is a clear no, so does likewise those who followed him on earth (Matt 25:41, 46).

Sodom and Gomorrah is an earthly judgment and is not an eternal judgment. So we cannot compare the earthly with the heavenly saying, that those who died have become dust and ashes. Every man dies once and is judged by God eternally once (Heb 9:27). Eternally the intensity of the fire will be different for different people, God does not unjustly judge all sinners the same way because all have not sinned the same way but in different degrees and therefore the punishment in the eternal fire and its intensity of torment and suffering also will be at different level according to their works whether good or bad (Matt 18:34; Luke 12:44-48; Rev 20:12-13, 14-15).

There are earthly reality as well as eternal heavenly reality. The physical comes first, and then the spiritual and eternal takes over us whether we like it or not (1 Cor 15:45-49). We as humans are created in the image of God, which is an eternal image that has been replicated in us, so we will live forever, the righteous in heaven with God and the unrighteous without God in hell which is Gehenna in Greek where a unquenchable fire that will continue burning and it is a place where the worm does not die and the fire in never quenched for eternity. If the worms in hell fire does not die, then what it is living for except to torment the wicked soul? Unless the wicked soul lives forever, what is the use of Jesus saying the worms does not die? After the White Throne judgment, all wicked will be thrown in to Gehenna to burn and be tormented in various degrees forever and ever (Luke 12:47-48).

Where Did Enoch And Elijah Go?

They are now with God standing before the thrown of God as olive trees waiting to come back to earth to prophecy and bring judgment for three and half years during the time of Great Tribulation of earth which is the second half of the Daniel's 70th week (Zech 4:11-14; Rev 11:1-6). They will die once and will return back to heaven to fulfill the Word of God (Heb 9:27)

God Controls The Dead As Well As The World That Is Physically Alive

Spiritist mediums do not communicate with the dead. Instead, they communicate with demon spirits who imitate those who have died (2 Cor 11:14).

Beside this we see in the Bible says, “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,” (Heb 9:27). Here the Greek word that is used for ‘judgment’ is ‘krisis’ which when translated gives us the meaning such as damnatory judgment, condemnation and punishment. And it also means sundering and separation. So according to the Bible a soul will go to the separated place of Sheol where the wicked souls of men are kept under sentence of condemnation. The Greek word for Hebrew word ‘sheol’ is ‘Hades’. Both mean the same here. This is what Jesus also affirmed in the real life story of ‘The Rich Man and Lazarus’ that happened in the Old Testament times. After he died his soul did not remain in the earth or in some other place to be consulted with, but was in torment in Hades (Luke 16:19-31; 2 Peter 2:17). The one difference that has happened in the New Testament is that the place where the righteous souls of men who were kept on the other side, with a great gulf between the wicked souls and righteous ones, were emptied when Jesus came to Sheol after His death on the cross and preached the gospel and took them to heaven with their resurrected bodies (1 Peter 3:18-20; 4:6; Eph 4:8-10; Matt 27:52-53). But the wicked souls are still in torment, in the section where the wicked souls are kept for the final white throne Judgment. And still now the wicked souls of men are kept there after their death.

And God also says in his word “Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.” (Ezek 18:4). In the book of Ecclesiastes this is confirmed, when the Bible says, “Then [after one dies] the dust will return to the earth as it was, And the spirit will return to God who gave it” (Eccl 12:7). And also Jesus affirmed this saying, “And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed [(i.e.) earthly judgment], has power to cast into hell [(i.e.) heavenly eternal judgment]; yes, I say to you, fear Him!” (Luke 12:4-5). From this above verse we can clearly understand that Satan has no right over any soul, whether wicked or righteous after death. Only God has the absolute right over the soul of every one after their physical death, so only He [i.e. Jesus] teaches every man to fear God. Satan has only rights to steal, kill, and destroy as God's servant when He chooses to execute his judgment upon the body of any man physically because of sin in the flesh (John 10:10; Rom 7:17). But Satan cannot do this to believers (Rom 6:22), if only they will stand on the promises of redemption that Jesus Christ has achieved for them. In Deut 18:11, a necromancer is explained as ‘one who calls up the dead.’ Here a person who calls up the dead does not mean that he is calling up a dead spirit of a man. The Hebrew word that is used here for the ‘one who calls up the dead’ is ‘darash’ which means ‘to consult, enquire of, seek of heathen gods, necromancers, to seek deity in prayer and worship [i.e. heathen deities]’. It does not in any way convey the meaning of inquiring a dead spirit of man.

Imagine a person being inhabited by a demon for years. On his death, this demon roams around in a disembodied state looking for another person who will not resist his efforts to gain entrance. This demon knows many intimate things that happened in the life of the departed person. If some medium is willing to communicate with this familiar spirit, naturally the spirit can stimulate the dead person and fool the assembled gullible gathering.

Many people also have misconceptions about haunted houses. Some think that the ghosts of departed people live in such houses, but it is not true. [Demons haunt houses and can cause thumps and bangs at any time of the night or day.]

Be Saved To Regain Friendship Back With God!

Above all we have discussed, the most important thing to know and understand is that the soul is not only immortal and cannot be separated from the spirit which returns to the control of God after our physical death, the ticking time that goes on in our life should be used to seek God now and find Him (Acts 17:26-27). The body returns to the dust which it has come from, but the spirit returns to God, so now is the time of salvation for us to get saved from sin, self and Satan. Make sure that your immortal soul first get saved from sin by believing in Jesus Christ (John 3:16), so that a new spirit creation can come in to activity to help you have friendship with God forever and ever (2 Cor 5:17; Jam 2:23).

I pray that the Lord might open our eyes to give a deeper revelation of ourselves from His Word so that the spirit and soul component can be separated for the Glory of God to lead a Spirit-led life to please God and bring the soul in subjection to the authority of the Word of God which is God Himself speaking to us His instruction to please Him through it. The body should be able to be controlled by the soul, so that a God glorifying life can be lived on earth for the Glory of God and at the same time collect treasure in heaven for eternity ahead in our after life.

Much Blessings.....
